Lena Rakijian, MS, RD, LDN is a dynamic and passionate health/fitness entrepreneur. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, indoor cycling instructor, yoga teacher, and health/wellness writer based in San Diego, CA. Lena has been featured in online publications for Martha Stewart Living, Glamour, SHAPE, Reebok, lululemon athletica, Racked, Sweat Concierge, and Boston.com. Lena strives to create an uplifting and inclusive space for her readers and students to discover what it means to live a fulfilling, happy, and healthy life. Lena delivers evidenced-based, relevant content to her readers that focuses on nutrition, physical activity, self-care, and mindfulness. Expertise & Passion for Nutrition & Active Living
Lena holds a Masters of Science in Nutrition & Public Health from Teachers College at Columbia University of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Business/Economics, Exercise & Sports Studies with an Emphasis in Fitness Instruction/Personal Training from University of California Santa Barbara. Lena completed her clinical dietetic internship at Harvard-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts. After completing her internship in June 2014, Lena passed the Registered Dietitian board examination and accepted a position as a Clinical Dietitian I at BIDMC. After 3 years in inpatient nutrition care, patient left her position at Beth Israel to pursue her dream of becoming a health/fitness entrepreneur. She now creates nutrition content and teaches fitness classes and mindful living workshops for people across the country.
Lena was teaching indoor cycling classes in Boston for the past four years. As Master Instructor and Director of Talent & Instructor Training of a Boston-based company, The Handle Bar Indoor Cycling Studios, Lena recruited and trained new talent to join the instructor team. In June 2017, she left Boston and moved to San Diego, CA to be closer to her family. She is excited to embark on this new journey as a nutrition and fitness professional in her hometown.
